Liberata Architects supports Barnfield Investment Properties’ successful bid to become Burnley Council’s housing joint venture partner

Liberata Architects is pleased to announce, in the capacity of lead architectural consultant, it has successfully supported Barnfield Investment Properties Ltd who have recently been named Burnley Borough Council’s housing joint venture partner for the next 10 years. The new joint venture is a key part of the Council’s housing strategy to encourage new homes to be built in the borough and offer a wide range of housing to residents.

The award-winning partnership between Liberata Architects and Barnfield Investment Properties has already designed and delivered family friendly and affordable housing in nearby Pendle.

Natalie Sarabia-Johnston, head of Liberata Architects, commented: “The team put a lot of hard work into assisting Barnfield with its successful bid.  We now look forward to progressing new housing projects with both Barnfield and Burnley Council.”

Charlie Bruin, CEO of Liberata, added: “This is another success for our growing Property Services business and supports a new area of work with Burnley Council.  Our partnership with Barnfield complements the other property services we are already providing the Council including Facilities Management and Estates and Property Management.”

Liberata Architects delivers a full range of services including master planning, large and small scale residential schemes, conservation listed buildings, refurbishment schemes, new build and mixed use development working in the residential, commercial, healthcare, education and leisure sectors.

Barnfield Investment Properties is part of the Barnfield Group, including Barnfield Construction Limited who will be physically delivering the construction element of the new partnership.

Gareth Smith, Project Director at Barnfield added: “Liberata offer a high quality service and fully understand our needs as a client. Their expertise in residential really helped with the bid and added to the strength of our proposal. As we move forward we will work with Liberata to deliver high quality well-designed residential units. This exciting new partnership with Burnley Borough Council really shows the innovative thinking that the best of public and private sector can bring together.”

Eastleigh Borough Council has worked with Liberata for a number of years who undertake the council's empty home reviews, and I must say, their service exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, they demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and a genuine commitment to addressing this critical issue in our community. Thanks to Liberata, the council has been able to maximise our empty home bonus year on year. This positive impact on our community cannot be overstated.

The RV Finder service from Liberata has really helped us ensure that our data is as accurate as possible and, when the VOA has processed the outstanding cases, I fully expect to see more than £1,000,000 of additional RV. The “risk and reward” model works well and the Council only has to pay for their success and the service is something that we will use on a regular basis.
