July 18, 2008

Liberata has received an award from the 4ps, local government's partnerships and project delivery specialist, for its innovative approach to help the London Borough of Bromley deliver improved services to local citizens. Liberata received the 4ps award for Best Private Sector Partner at a national ceremony in London on Thursday 19 June.

Chris Wilson, 4ps’ Executive Director, said: “I am delighted to announce this year’s award winners. Earlier this year 4ps called for greater partnership working between public, private and third sectors in order to generate efficiency gains. The winning local authorities demonstrate successful community partnerships involving the public, private and third sectors. We were very impressed with Liberata’s Transformational Partnership project which is an example of a highly successful PPP project that has made a real contribution to the London Borough of Bromley.”

Stephen Carr, Leader of the Council at London Borough of Bromley commented; “Bromley congratulates Liberata on winning this award and are delighted that they are our partners. We recently took the decision to extend the contract up to March 2011 on the back of continuous improvements across the service. We are impressed by Liberata’s corporate values and in particular, the investment in our student programme.”

Robert Gogel, Liberata CEO, said: ‘We are delighted to win the Best Private Sector Partner award for Excellence in Local Government 2008. The award illustrates the deep partnership between Bromley and Liberata and the commitment of our delivery teams. We continuously aim to enhance the service by creating an exemplar operating model in the region and deliver a high-performing service to the citizens of Bromley.’

To continue 4ps work encouraging successful public private partnerships, the first formal training course specifically designed for local authority and private sector project directors has been launched. The Project Directors’ Development Programme, run by 4ps and University College London (UCL), will enable project directors from the public and private sectors to understand every aspect of the procurement process. The training programme will equip project directors with the necessary leadership, communication and negotiation skills to effectively and efficiently lead the delivery of successful projects.
