At Liberata the training and development of our employees is a vital part of the success of our business. We apply a blended approach to our training and development programme, employing e-learning, classroom training, coaching and mentoring. This helps us meet our four strategic areas of training and development:
- Basic office skills
- Technical training
- Management skills
- Leadership development
Training needs are identified on a continuous basis through our New Starter Process, six-monthly Employee Performance Reviews (EPR) and regular individual sessions to review objectives and progress. The EPR provides a direct link from development needs to development opportunities.
We employ full-time trainers, who work closely with Deloitte & Touche who have a major training organisation, to provide a wide portfolio of classroom training across each of our Business Centres.
Our employees also have the opportunity to use a web-based training application provided by Skillsoft, where they can develop their basic office skills in generic office software applications including word processing and spreadsheets, plus report writing and presentations. There are also a number of leadership-based courses for managers.
We are keen to support the gaining of qualifications either for new employees or for existing employees who want to formalise their experience. The exact nature of the support will vary according to the needs of the individual, the courses available, and the practicalities of the delivery of the service. Liberata supports individuals on day release, block release, distance learning, and correspondence courses.
Management skills training is provided through a combination of internal and external specialist trainers and covers a wide range of topics from negotiation skills and business case preparations, to a full range of people management skills required by our leaders.
